I don't think the math bears that out, but they could've run another minute off the clock w/o changing their play calls at all...
If New England scores a TD, it's over. If they get a field goal and Atlanta gets a TD, it's over. If they get a field goal and Atlanta gets a field goal, they keep going and next score wins.
It really looked like the Falcons rode an emotional high as far as it could take them and then had nothing left in the tank. Meanwhile, the more experienced team just kept plugging away and overtook them.
Except that this time, I can laugh at the whole thing. It's like living on Mars on November 8th and chuckling, "Fuckin' Earthlings..."
And Brady still got outplayed again!
